Harbour dues will stay at last year’s rates for the coming season, the harbourmaster, Mr Davey Pike, told the annual meeting of harbour users on Monday evening.
About thirty owners and skippers attended the meeting, which was held in a committee room at the Town Hall.
Mr Pike said the winter’s repairs to the quay were complete. Two mooring rings loosened in the January gales have been reset. The iron ladder at the quay steps has been replaced.
“The railing on the promenade has been painted as far as the paint went,” he said. “The rest will be done when there is more paint.”
He asked that pots stacked on the quay be kept clear of the bollards and the heads of the ladders. He asked that boats laid up ashore for painting be back in the water by Easter, when the space is wanted.
The meeting was told that the channel at the harbour mouth was sounded in January and does not need dredging this year.
There were no questions about the dues. The meeting closed at twenty past eight.
