Market Square

Thursday market: hours, pitches and rules

Every Thursday from eight until two. The fish is usually gone by ten.

Seabrook market is held in Market Square every Thursday. It opens at eight in the morning and closes at two in the afternoon.

There are twenty-two pitches, let by the Council by the quarter. Fish comes up from the harbour and is usually gone by ten. The bread goes before the fish. There are vegetables, eggs, cheese, cut flowers and plants in their season, a stall that sharpens knives and shears, and a stall of second-hand tools.

Stallholders may set up from half past six. Vans must be out of the square by a quarter to eight and may not return until two. The square is swept at three.

There is no parking in the square on Thursdays. A vehicle left there after six o’clock in the morning is treated as a stall and charged as one. Motorists are asked to use the car park on Harbour Road.

Dogs are allowed on a lead. Shoppers are advised not to eat in the open, on account of the gulls.

A pitch may be applied for in writing at the Town Hall. There is a waiting list.
